On Friday 20th November the annual What House Awards honouring the best house builders and new home developments in the UK took place in London and it was another very successful night for Habitat First Group, winning awards in two of the most coveted and sought after categories:
Silver in the best Development category for our sister site Lower Mill Estate
Bronze in the best house category for our innovative Water Garden design
The entire team at Habitat First have worked tirelessly this year in their pursuit of excellence and we are very proud to be recognised by the UK’s leading new homes portal; we hope that these are the first of many more awards on the horizon in the future.
Red Paxton, one-third of the Paxton family who own Habitat First, attended the awards ceremony on Friday night and said “We are over the moon that the hard work and dedication of all of the staff at Habitat First is being recognised in such a way and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all members of the team for making this year such a resounding success.” He also added “We have some very exciting plans for the future at both Lower Mill Estate and Silverlake and we cannot wait to continue to share our vision of a sustainable vacation home community with the world”
We are very proud to feature in the December 2015 issues of Tatler, Vogue and GQ magazine.
The detailed article offers a unique, personal insight into Habitat First Group and the key philosophies that drive us forward in everything we do – Family, Ecology & Architecture.
Our Owner, Red Paxton, speaks openly and honestly about what motivates him to succeed, working with his siblings in the family business and his very exciting plans for the future.
Silverlake is the culmination of a dream first conceived by the late Jeremy Paxton, founder of Habitat First Group, and now realised by his children, Red, Ruby & Rory, as the Paxton family aim to provide a safe haven for families who long for the good old days where one could be at one with nature and children could run free and explore in complete safety.
Infrastructure development is already well underway here in Dorset and build on our first set of new homes starts this month. Keep an eye on our social media platforms for regular updates and information, we look forward to sharing this journey with you all.
Habitat First Group recently donated an essential piece of equipment to the Crossways community which we hope will help our NHS community first responders save countless lives in the local community for years to come.
The kit includes a defibrillator, pulse oximeter, oxygen and other basic life saving equipment and also comes with a pager, which our local community first responders can be contacted on.
Community first responders play an absolutely vital role in buying paramedics precious time to reach the scene of an emergency which is often required in more rural areas where journeys can take longer than average.
These local heroes are volunteers and give up their spare time to save lives for no financial gain and receive no reimbursement for the use of their vehicles, they often rely on contributions and donations to fund their activity and we are very proud to sponsor such a worthwhile cause.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all community first responders around the country for all of their hard work and dedication and particularly our very own local heroes Paul Gravenor and Colin Poulter, who’s selfless efforts are hugely appreciated by all at Silverlake.
We are very pleased to announce that our recommended building partner, Conservation Builders Ltd.’s (CBL’s) brand new Bespoke Centre at Silverlake is taking shape nicely and is due for completion by the end of 2015. This fantastic space will offer the perfect spot for new homeowners at Silverlake to sit down with the team from CBL and hand pick every last personal detail of their home whilst overlooking the serenely still Beaumont Lake.
The room is directly adjacent to the Sales Barn and perfectly showcases CBL’s build quality with its simple rectangular timber frame structure clad in cedar with a pitched corrugated iron roof. The room will display selected elements of a kitchen and bathroom as well as an area to sit down and brainstorm with your own personal bespoke manager. once plans have been finalised, clients will meet with their bespoke manager to run through the house from top to bottom, specifying finishes, fixtures and fittings. The bespoke manager will then liaise directly with suppliers and the bespokes will be delivered to the site and installed – it really is that simple!
Suppliers will include:
Tiles – Porcelanosa
Sanitary Ware – Villeroy & Boch
Bathroom Accessories – Bence
Bath Tubs – William Holland
Kitchen – Nobilia
Kitchen Appliances – Siemens via Nobilia
Tapware/Bathroom Accessories – Vado
Tapware/Bathroom Accessories – Hans Grohe
Oak Flooring – Pontrilas
Carpet – JC Carpets
CBL like to work closely with local suppliers to build strong relationships and keep money in the local economy and we look forward to adding more local suppliers to our long list of partners over the coming months.
We are very pleased to announce that we have now reached 13 reservations in Beaumont Village – That’s 13 brand new families joining the Silverlake community. We could not have envisaged such a brilliant start to our new Dorset adventure and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all who have been involved in making these first six months so successful – you know who you are! Build on these properties starts this month and we could be more excited to get things started.
Call 01305 853490 to arrange an appointment to come down and visit us and see for yourself why so many families have chosen Silverlake as their ideal spot to build their dream holiday home in the Dorset countryside.
We looking forward to seeing you soon and sharing our vision with you.
