Our stunning natural ‘playground’ offers a host of activities, from mountain biking to zip wiring across the water. Whether you’re a young adventurer or a relaxed rambler, there is something for everyone to enjoy on the estate. 

 

Enjoy the tranquil waterways on a kayak, canoe, or paddleboard, discover the estate’s pathways and beyond on two wheels, or while away the hours with a fishing rod. Spend your day or evening chilling out in our luxury yurt, where the family can get to together, play a board game and relax.

Mini pumpkin carving

Join us in the Yurt for an afternoon of mini pumpkin carving, delicious food and freaky face painting from 1500 - 1700 on the 31st of October.

Mini pumpkin carving for £5 per pumpkin, children's face painting from 1500 - 1700, ghostly hot chocolates, Halloween-themed cocktails and mocktails, Halloween-themed pizza. Additional pumpkins available to purchase*

Please note that all children must be accompanied by an adult. Pumpkin carving is not suitable for very young children due to the cutting of the pumpkins. Pumpkins will be pre-hollowed for ease.

Spooktacular Halloween Trail

From the 18th of October to the 4th of November, use what3words to locate the pumpkin faces scattered around the Estate.

We've scattered 10 pumpkin faces around the Estate. When you find a pumpkin face solve the clue/riddle and write the answer down. Head back to the Activity Hub when you have collected all the answers to receive a treat!

Everyone taking on the trail needs to be in a reasonable level of fitness and sensible footwear must be worn! It can get muddy, so please dress adventure-ready.

We advise that children are accompanied by an adult whilst taking on the trail.

Nature Explorers

A great opportunity for families or adults keen to learn more about the estate's wildlife. Sessions are designed to help children learn more about nature on the estate in engaging and interactive ways! Join us on selected dates throughout the year for an array of fun activities for naturally curious kids. Sessions are designed to help children learn more about nature on the estate in engaging and interactive ways. Children will enjoy activities such as pond dipping, bug hunting, nature walks, bird watching and more! Events will be held in the Yurt before venturing further out into the nature reserve. Due to the outdoor nature of the activity, please dress appropriately for muddy and wet conditions!

Nature Crafts for Kids

Nature-based arts and crafts fun with a twist aiming to teach children about nature through fun and engaging crafts. Join us on selected dates throughout the year for an hour of crafting activity for kids. These workshops will aim to teach children about nature through fun and engaging crafts. Children will get involved in a variety of nature-themed activities such as; creating leaf collages, habitat box making, making bird feeders for the wildlife on the estate and leaf rubbing. Please meet at the Yurt 5 minutes prior to the start time of the event. Please note: This activity will be aimed at children aged 8 and under. Children under 5 will have to be accompanied by an adult, however, parents are welcome (parents are not required to pay).

A great way to explore the Estate and the local area, our electric bikes will keep your legs spinning for longer! Our state-of-the-art electric bikes allow you to effortlessly explore the Estate, discovering woodland trails, picturesque lakes and the beautiful local area with ease. Water Sports Equipment

New for 2024! Inclusive equipment hire for all Habitat Escapes guests. For fun and frolics with a harmonious natural backdrop, explore the myriad of beautiful lakes at Silverlake. Drift, splash and race along with canoes, kayaks and paddleboards. Look out for our resident wild ponies who like to cool off at the water’s edge. Water sports equipment is not available between November and April due to safety restrictions in relation to water temperature.

Stretch and Relax Yoga

Join us for a rejuvenating yoga session at the beautiful Silverlake Nature Reserve in Dorset. Our outdoor yoga sessions take place on the edge of the reserve, offering a peaceful and serene atmosphere to help you connect with your mind and body. Our yoga session contains elements across different disciplines of yoga, suitable for all levels of ability. Whether you are an experienced yogi or a beginner, our experienced instructor will guide you through the practice, helping you to stretch, breathe and relax. Please note that the session is aimed towards people of all abilities, but participants must be over the age of 14. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and bringing a yoga mat, although we do have some available for use.

With a beautiful view over Beaumont Lake, the tennis court and 3G artificial turf multi-use games area (MUGA) in Beaumont Village offer the perfect spot for a quick knock-about or an entertaining game of five-a-side football with family and friends. The Island

Calling all adventurers! Let your little one’s imagination run wild in our outdoor woodland area. Tucked away amongst the untouched foliage of the Warmwell Heathland, The Island is a haven for the whole family. Take a dip in the refreshing eco-pool whilst the children climb, slide and zip through the trees. Then build a campfire, toast some marshmallows and run wild in our forest tipi.

Fishing at Silverlake

If you're a seasoned angler, you'll be pleased to learn that just a short 5 minute walk from your property sits Otter Lake. An exclusive lake for our guests only, home to Carp, Tench, Bream and Roach ready for you to cast off and fish until your heart’s content.

The Yurt

Our traditional handmade yurt is the perfect spot for a lazy afternoon playing board games, telling stories, reconnecting with loved ones and making new friends around the log-burning stove. Our outdoor pizza oven is located right next door. It is available at certain times of the year, fired up by our expert chefs to provide the tastiest authentic woodfired pizza using the freshest local ingredients.

Miss Dormouse Trail

The Miss Dormouse Trail is a family-friendly treasure trail around Silverlake's acres of nature reserve.

Nature Reserve

A wonderful place for wildlife spotting, the lowland heath supports a wide range of plants, insects, birds and animals. Our own Site of Nature Conservation Interest (SNCI) is an important habitat for wildlife conservation, as is Warmwell Heath in the far distance, with Special Protected Area status. Small herds of sika deer often shelter in The Hollow and graze quietly on the heath. The peaceful landscape also attracts birds such as the song thrush, tree pipit, green woodpecker, linnet and nightjar.

Fliteboarding

Fliteboarding is a fun and exciting way to experience the thrill of riding on the water, and it's quickly becoming one of the most popular water sports around the world. The Activity Hub are excited to announce that they are teaming up with the UK's first registered flight school, OTC, to bring this unique and ground-breaking Water Sports challenge in the nearby seaside town of Portland. Fliteboards are the latest and greatest in the world of foiling water sports and feature an electric motor that can generate speeds of up to 26 knots! Prices start at £199.00 for a 2-hour session on the water. Please note: this is an off-site activity and guests must arrange their own transport to and from Portland.
